We are a Missouri based family business that's been involved across a variety of facets within the senior living industry for over 40 years. Montgomery Intermediary Group (MIG) is a brokerage firm focused on helping investors in senior living assets find great buying opportunities and helping sellers of those assets locate buyers willing to pay the right price. MIG is rigorous in conducting market research and utilizes an assortment of data resources, including extended family with 40 years of experience in the development and asset management side of the senior living business, especially in the Missouri, Illinois, Kansas, Tennessee and Mississippi markets. MIG has reach beyond these markets and is active throughout the Midwest, Southwest and Southeast. Whatever your senior housing needs or interests may be, all team members at MIG are capable and excited to help.

Andrew Montgomery

Andrew has experience in several facets of the real estate business, beginning his career at Montgomery Properties where he learned the fundamentals of real estate development and asset management. He later joined an Office REIT where he gained experience in managing and acquiring office buildings in Ireland and Europe. He now stays involved with a few of the family business, but spends his time focused on growing MIG, a real estate brokerage focused on the needs of owners and investors of senior living assets across the country

Joel Montgomery

Joel was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and grew up in Sikeston, Missouri. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University in 1981 and a J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis in 1984. Joel practiced law as a litigation attorney for several years with the St. Louis firm of Evans and Dixon. Joel is the founding Principal of Montgomery Properties and has been active in the commercial real estate market for over 30 years, with experience in all aspects of the business including property investment, management and development.

Reed Montgomery

Reed was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. After graduating from Westminster Christian Academy, Reed attended Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee. Realizing he missed the Show Me State, Reed finished his undergraduate work at Saint Louis University (SLU) where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. After graduating from SLU, Reed spent 3 years working for Montgomery Bank as a personal banker, cash management officer, credit analyst, and loan officer. In 2021, Reed decided to leave banking for the real estate industry, where he now has an active role in the management, brokerage, and development of commercial properties.

Melissa Warner

Melissa was born and raised in Olathe, Kansas. She moved to St. Louis, with her daughter Heather, in 1993. Melissa has worked in commercial real estate for over 25 years, 15 of those with Montgomery Properties. She has experience in accounting, office administration and property management. Melissa and her husband Robert have a hobby farm which supports eleven animals, most of them rescues. Melissa has served the St. Louis National Charity Horse Show for eight years. She will serve as president of the organization in 2022 and 2023. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, riding horses and encouraging the world to become fellow equestrians.

Becky Haley

Born and raised in St. Louis, Becky has worked in its commercial real estate industry for more than 30 years. With a strong administrative background, her experience has ranged from Receptionist to Partner. Currently, Becky enjoys managing the office and day to day administrative and accounting duties for Montgomery Properties. Becky and her husband Brian enjoy spending their free time with their four children, rehabbing homes, and volunteering for various organizations.

Mercy Montgomery

Mercy Montgomery is the 7th member of the Montgomery Properties Team. She was born in Tex-Arcana, Arkansas in October of 2017. Since graduating Summa Cum Laude from hunting school, Mercy has gone on to earn her Junior and Senior AKC Field Titles, an honor less than 200 Golden Retrievers receive each year. She also has a duck retrieval count that stretches into the hundreds. Mercy joined the Montgomery Properties team in February of 2022. Her job consists of begging for cookies, chewing on her blanket, and interrupting phone calls with her squeaky toys. She is also good for a few belly rubs throughout the day. When Mercy is not working or hunting, she enjoys long walks, playing with friends, and sleeping. She is definitely a Certified Good Girl.

Bell Tower Senior Living

 

MIG facilitated the sale of a local owner operator looking to scale out of the senior living business. With a quick time frame to sell the property, MIG was able to bring in multiple offers from groups and ultimately close the deal with a SNF operator out of Chicago looking to grow in the IL/AL/MC space before year end.

Ambrose Park Senior Living

 

MIG represented the owners of a residential care community that were looking to retire from the business after operating the home for more than a decade. The owners also developed the community themselves originally back between 2009-2012. MIG was able to bring in a family run operator looking to expand on their existing RCF in MO to acquire the building.

Camellia Place

 

MIG facilitated the sale on the buyside of this 96 unit AL/MC in Woodstock, GA. The owners had developed and sold other communities in the past, and were local to the area. The buyer MIG brought to the table considered of a new operating company based out of Dallas that partnered with an investment group local to the Dallas area as well.

Mingo Residential Care

 

MIG facilitated the sale of a 36 bed RCF in Missouri that was dual licensed via DHSS and DMH. The buyer for the deal was a family run operator looking to continue growing their RCF portfolio in Missouri.

The Meadows at Halltown

 

MIG facilitated the sale of a 21 bed AL community just 30 minutes North of Nashville. The owners were a husband and wife looking to retire from the business, while the buyers consisted of a family and partners looking to expand on their existing asset in the Nashville market.

Heart Core Portfolio

 

MIG sold a package of 2 residential care communities in Cole Camp and Warsaw, Missouri. In just 3.5 months, MIG was able to bring in multiple competing offers and get the deal closed. While both communities were licensed residential care facilities, one of them was dual licensed via the Missouri Department of Mental Health and the Department of Health and Senior Services. The buyer MIG brought in was a growing regional owner/operator looking to expand their Missouri footprint.

MIG facilitated the sale of an 85 unit assisted living community in Memphis, TN. MIG was able to bring in multiple offers from groups within the senior living and behavioral health space. In the end, a private investor out of Chicago acquired the community and was able to get a zoning variance approved that permits the property to operate as a behavioral health community.
